Just Getting Started

As we head into this century’s version of the Roaring 20s, my mind and calendar are filled with goals for the coming year. Vitae will be out within a few months, Duality has exceeded my expectations with five-star reviews as well as putting me on the map as an award-winning author, and future prospects look unbelievably amazing. Even once Vitae has been published, work doesn’t stop there. Behind-the-scenes work is continuing on a line of…

Distribution – Pick Your Poison

I realize that this post is a tad overdue. While it wasn’t intentional, let’s just say that I’ve been more than a little busy as of late. Hmm – could have something to do with Duality being named a 2019 IAN Book of the Year Awards Finalist Ahem, anyway…I guess that makes this particular post more timely than ever because I wanted to talk about distribution and some of the methods I have considered as…

There’s More Where That Came From

Friday, November 8, 2019. That is the date the current edition of DUALITY will be removed from Amazon in both Kindle and paperback formats to make way for the updated second edition to be released on Sunday, November 10, 2019. The second edition will have a number of cosmetic/formatting changes on the outside and inside of the book; and, though I am hoping that VITAE will also be released on the same day, I am…

Programming Note

Lots of thought has gone into this, and I’ve realized that I’m spread a bit too thin at the moment. I’m juggling a full-time job, writing my second novel, still doing promotional work for my debut novel, and myriad other things. As a result, blogging has fallen by the wayside. It isn’t that I don’t enjoy blogging – I do – I just don’t have as much free time as I once did to post…

Great Storms That Begin Small

I have spent the last month or so doing my best to get my life right. I don’t mean that on any dramatic, over-the-top, monumental scale. I only mean in terms of writing, working on my “brand,” and finalizing plans for future projects. It is a lot. That is definitely not an over-exaggeration; I actually do have a lot on my plate. And, it’s fantastic! That is not a complaint at all. I am absolutely…

Background Noise

Fun fact about Me: I briefly studied Massage Therapy in 2010.  I was enrolled in the Associate’s Degree program with plans to obtain a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology. In short, Kinesiology is the study of movement. As a massage therapist, I hoped to learn what I could about how to help treat or alleviate symptoms of injuries after they took place.  Studying Kinesiology also taught me how those kinds of injuries might be prevented.  Though I…

More to Come!

One year ago, Always Ametra was launched. I realized that it was time to write in my own voice and under my own name, and though I wasn’t sure how long of a journey this would be, I still wanted to follow through. Since then, SO many wonderful things have happened. I’ll share them all as the time comes, but I’m glad to focus on a couple of them for now. My debut novel, Duality, is…

Character Profiles

I’ve decided to do something new and fun. Because I had so much fun crafting the book trailer for Duality, I decided to take it a step further with the creation of character profile videos. These will be spoiler-free in that, while giving a bit of insight into the character, will not give away any of the plot. I’m also only going to do two of them – maybe three. I hope you’ll enjoy them.

Duality

She crouched, shivering as she forced her body deep inside the crowded closet. Wiping the tears from her cheeks, she couldn’t help shuddering as her fingertips grazed the clots of blood and flesh that she’d been sprayed with. Gritting her teeth, she fought to maintain control though she felt the bile rising as her stomach churned. An ear-splitting scream mingled with the guttural gurgles that resembled mirthful cackling. She heard panting and the indelicate, wet…
