One year ago, Always Ametra was launched. I realized that it was time to write in my own voice and under my own name, and though I wasn’t sure how long of a journey this would be, I still wanted to follow through.
Since then, SO many wonderful things have happened. I’ll share them all as the time comes, but I’m glad to focus on a couple of them for now. My debut novel, Duality, is now available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle format. I’m also participating in NaNoWriMo, writing the novel that will likely end up being my third (or fourth) book. This is my first year of NaNoWriMo, and the timing has come as a bit of a challenge.
At the moment, I’m doing all of my own promotional work for Duality. I won’t get into the details of it now (that’s actually planned for a separate post), but it does consume quite a bit of my spare moments. Add to that the demands of real life and the full-time job that I hope to someday soon be able to set aside in favor of writing full-time. Now, I’ve squeezed NaNoWriMo in there and, though I’m not sure that I’ll make the goal of 50k words, I’m also not worried about it. I am laying some stellar groundwork for a novel and I can’t be mad about it at ALL!
Also, today is my birthday!
I always make a point to get myself a gift for my birthday. Last year, the gift was to launch this blog. This year, the gift was to release Duality. Now, that did get mucked up a bit when the paperback ended up being released on 10/23. But, the Kindle edition still came out today so – objective complete! It is my goal to release a novel every year on November 10 as a gift to myself and in gratitude for something I’ve loved to do since I was a child.
As I’ve mentioned, there are a lot of great things coming up. For now, though, there are birthday shenanigans afoot! Onward!
