It’s been a busy time for me as of late. In addition to hours increasing for peak season at my day job, I’ve also been hard at work with promos for Vitae and with solidifying some of the groundwork for the novel I plan to publish by the end of 2020.
Speaking of Vitae…I am twenty days past when I initially hoped to have it published, and we are now looking into early 2020 before its release. To be honest, I can’t admit to being disappointed about that. My personal goal is to always share work that’s exciting to me, and I refuse to shortchange myself – first and foremost. I love where Vitae is now, and I also know that it can and will be better with additional time and care.
What’s next after Vitae is published, though? Hopefully, regular blog posts! I am also currently in the early developmental stages of a line of merchandise. Yes, you read that correctly.
I have cultivated ideas for book-related merchandise, and the product line will start out small with a new addition or two either quarterly or every six months depending on different factors. I do not yet have a date as to when the line will be available, but I can tell you that it will start out with t-shirts and expand from that point into other accessories and apparel. By launch, I will already have a minimum of two years of expansions on my calendar. I also refuse to sell anything that I won’t also be wearing/using and might even post pics of me in said gear when the time comes.
The cover design for my third novel is nearly complete! Being able to multitask is a blessing for me and, while eyeball-deep in the middle of Vitae, I began to think of what my third novel should look like visually. Of course, it’s possible that there will be some tweaking here or there for the next year before the novel comes out (and, no, I’m not telling you the title yet), but the core concept is solid and I’m very happy with it. The concept of the novel itself is also solid and, if you don’t recall, the book is a result of the work I did for NaNoWriMo 2018, and I cannot wait to dive into it fully.
Now…it has been suggested to me that I create an audiobook version of Duality. It was also suggested that I narrate the novel. While I fully support the former, I am not quite convinced of the latter at the moment. Stay tuned on that.
Lastly, 2018 and 2019 have been a boon for me creatively and I am excited about what 2020 and 2021 will bring. As a result of the research I conducted on distribution, I will be making some changes in 2020. I think it’s time to go from a single train on a solitary track to a system of trains navigating multiple trajectories. I’ve tried it one way for over a year, and there is most definitely room for improvement. I can’t wait to share with you what’s coming.
Til then…
