Full Circle

When writing the initial draft of Duality, I had a completely different personality and ending in mind for one of the main characters. Even his name was different from what it eventually became. It’s so funny to look back now at the initial character outline, comparing that to what he eventually transformed into, but it ended up being for the best. Once the novel was finished I loved him even more. But, what was even…

Somewhat Sordid Beginnings

When I was sixteen years old, there was a convenience store around the corner from my house that I went to almost every day for treats and snacks to share with my baby sister.  The manager of the store liked us and offered the opportunity for me to work there for a couple of hours a day after school if I wanted to. Of course, I did!  It was an adorable store, I knew the…

Gratitude

I’m going to approach this post a little differently.  Let’s do this in list format, okay? I am grateful for my health – both mental and physical.  Despite the after effects of hypothyroidism requiring surgery, osteoarthritis of the spine with other complications, and costochondritis, I am still among the healthiest when compared with friends and loved ones.  I’m not as crazy as some of them, either.  Tee hee! I am grateful for my family and…

Stellar 2018

As we approach the end of 2018 and get ready to ring in the New Year, I’d like to start by saying thank you to those who have been my backbone and lifeline before, during, and after I became a published author. I have been SO busy (as evidenced by my hiatus) and things are well underway for my next TWO novels to be published. More on that soon, though. For now, let’s get caught…

More to Come!

One year ago, Always Ametra was launched. I realized that it was time to write in my own voice and under my own name, and though I wasn’t sure how long of a journey this would be, I still wanted to follow through. Since then, SO many wonderful things have happened. I’ll share them all as the time comes, but I’m glad to focus on a couple of them for now. My debut novel, Duality, is…

Character Profiles

I’ve decided to do something new and fun. Because I had so much fun crafting the book trailer for Duality, I decided to take it a step further with the creation of character profile videos. These will be spoiler-free in that, while giving a bit of insight into the character, will not give away any of the plot. I’m also only going to do two of them – maybe three. I hope you’ll enjoy them.

Duality

She crouched, shivering as she forced her body deep inside the crowded closet. Wiping the tears from her cheeks, she couldn’t help shuddering as her fingertips grazed the clots of blood and flesh that she’d been sprayed with. Gritting her teeth, she fought to maintain control though she felt the bile rising as her stomach churned. An ear-splitting scream mingled with the guttural gurgles that resembled mirthful cackling. She heard panting and the indelicate, wet…

Very Special Announcement

A mistake, albeit it one that I’ve come to appreciate and squeal over for the last hour or so, has caused the paperback version of Duality to be made available on Amazon ahead of the November 10 publication date. I cannot change this and I’ve decided that I wouldn’t if I could. I will instead take it, run with it, scream over it (flailing hands, included), and share the news! The Kindle version is available…

Huzzah!

Last night, I completed the upload of Duality to Amazon – in both Kindle as well as paperback format! The Kindle version was approved almost immediately. The paperback version, however, is still in review and I expect it to be approved at any time. Once both are up and showing as available for preorder, I’ll be sure to make an announcement. For now… I am exhausted, amazed, excited, grateful, and very hyper. Once I’ve recovered,…
